Product Description

Philips InteGrade engine UB Vi 1150 mm WWR G4 — Food LED engine for canopy lighting

InteGrade engine UB Vi 1150 mm WWR G4 is a fourth-generation linear LED engine with Uniform Beam optics (UB — even distribution), designed specifically for installation in the canopy of refrigerated and freezer furniture. The Vi (vision) version with 13.1 W delivers 1401 lm of uniform light in Philips Food LED WWR (warm white red) technology — a dedicated LED formula developed to showcase meat, cold cuts, cheese and baked goods. The product delivers vivid, saturated color around the clock, attracting customers’ attention and boosting sales.

Key features and benefits

  • Philips Food LED technology (WWR — warm white red) — a specially formulated LED recipe that enhances red and warm color saturation of food products while preserving natural white; meat, cold cuts, cheese and baked goods look appetizing and fresh, which directly influences customer purchase decisions.
  • Uniform Beam optics (UB) — ideal for canopy — a revolutionary optical system that evenly illuminates the full height of the furniture from top to bottom, eliminating dark zones in the center of the doors and on the lowest shelves where traditional lighting fails.
  • Vi (vision) version — maximum brightness — the vision-class engine offers the highest luminous flux in the G4 family; 1401 lm at 13.1 W ensures exceptional product visibility even through refrigerator glass doors.
  • Efficiency up to 137 lm/W — the latest energy efficiency of the G4 generation significantly reduces operating costs and lowers the store’s carbon footprint.
  • Continuous light line without hot spots — the plug-and-play G4 design creates an uninterrupted light stream without blinding points, glare or reflections on packaging.
  • Slim profile — installation invisible to the customer — the ultra-thin engine integrates into the canopy without compromising the furniture design; customer focus remains solely on the merchandise.
  • CRI ≥ 90 (according to IES TM-30) — natural color rendering ensures the product looks just as attractive under store lighting as it does at home; no unpleasant surprises after purchase builds customer loyalty.
  • 5 SDCM color consistency — minimal color differences between adjacent engines; a uniform, professional appearance of the entire display from end to end.
  • Instant full light — no warm-up, full brightness from the first second every time; reliable operation during multiple daily cycles.
  • Lifetime 50,000 h — minimal lumen depreciation and color shift over time; light remains consistent throughout the long service life, significantly reducing maintenance costs.
  • Dimmable — flexible light level adjustment adapted to time of day, store zone or energy-saving schedule.
  • Compatibility with the entire InteGrade G4 ecosystem — mounting profiles, clips, power cables and Philips drivers from the G4 brochure fit without any modifications; easy expansion and modernization of existing installations.

FAQ — frequently asked questions

What is Uniform Beam optics (UB) and what is it used for?

Uniform Beam optics directs light evenly downward and sideways, covering the full height of the refrigerated unit interior from the canopy down to the lowest shelf. It is a solution dedicated to top-of-furniture installation — unlike Narrow Beam (NB) optics, which are used for vertical mounting in doors and frames. UB eliminates dark areas in the center of glass doors, a common problem with traditional fluorescent lighting.

What is the difference between the Vi (vision) and Va (value) versions?

The Vi (vision) version offers higher luminous flux — 1401 lm at 13.1 W — and is intended for applications requiring maximum product visibility. The Va (value) UB 1150 mm WWR G4 delivers 926 lm at 7.60 W — it is more energy efficient and works well in smaller or less intensely lit cabinets. The choice between Vi and Va depends on cabinet depth, required illumination level and energy budget.

What does Philips Food LED technology (WWR) mean?

WWR stands for warm white red — a specially formulated LED recipe developed by Philips for food display in refrigerated conditions. It enhances red and warm color saturation (meat, cold cuts, cheese, bread) while maintaining natural white. WWR products are intended exclusively for refrigerated and freezer furniture — not for general room lighting. CRI is measured according to IES TM-30, which better reflects color rendering quality for non-standard spectral distributions.

What LED driver is required?

The engine requires a constant voltage power supply of 24 V DC. Philips certified the system only in combination with Philips Constant Voltage drivers (e.g. 60 W / 100 W / 150 W 24 V DC LED transformer or Xitanium drivers) — only such combination activates the 5-year system warranty and guaranteed 50,000 h lifetime.

Is the product compatible with accessories from previous InteGrade generations?

Yes. The InteGrade G4 system is designed for maximum flexibility and compatibility with existing infrastructure. Mounting profiles, clips (including magnetic and canopy clips), power cables and connectors from the InteGrade ecosystem fit G4 engines. This allows upgrading older installations without replacing the entire furniture structure.

What is the difference between this engine and a fixture (F)?

Engine is an LED module without an external housing — intended for direct OEM integration into the refrigerated furniture structure (profiles, canopies, doors). Fixture (F) is a complete luminaire with housing, ready to install in/onto standard InteGrade profiles. The Vi UB engine is chosen by refrigerated furniture manufacturers who design their own mechanical construction and want to integrate the LED module invisibly to the customer.

Product intended for OEM applications (integration by the refrigerated furniture manufacturer). The engine is not a standalone fixture — it requires installation in a profile or furniture structure and connection to a compatible Philips 24 V DC driver. Certified for use in refrigerators and freezers according to IEC/EN 60335-2-24 and IEC/EN 60335-2-89.
