Product Description
WAGO COMPACT 221-415 Quick Connector – 5x 0.2–4 mm2 transparent with levers
WAGO 221-415 is a 5-pole installation quick connector from the COMPACT 221 series, enabling connection of five copper conductors in a single compact element. Designed for solid, stranded and fine-stranded conductors without tools. Transparent polycarbonate housing and CAGE CLAMP® technology provide a reliable, gas-tight connection and instant visual inspection of all five terminals.
Key advantages
- 5 terminals in one connector – for complex connections: joins five conductors of same potential in one point. Allows combining five conductor types and sizes without extra accessories.
- Tool-free installation – 3 steps: lift the lever, insert stripped conductor, lower the lever. Drastically shorter installation time and elimination of crimping errors.
- Universal – solid, stranded and ferruled conductors: supports solid conductor (0.2–4.0 mm2), stranded conductor (0.14–4.0 mm2) and ferruled conductor (0.2–4.0 mm2) in any combination. One product replaces several connector types.
- Transparent housing – visual inspection: transparent polycarbonate allows immediate check of correct conductor insertion and stripping length for all five conductors. Quick quality check with no disassembly.
- Two test holes: allow voltage and continuity measurement with connected conductors without disconnection. Fast field diagnostics.
- COMPACT – 40% smaller than 222 series: new housing geometry enables fitting more connectors in same distribution box or junction box space. Neat installation, space saving.

Applications
- Branching electrical circuits in installation boxes – connecting one supply conductor with four loads.
- Lighting installations – grouping power for multiple LED or conventional fixtures in one point.
- Distribution boards and control cabinets – grouping phase, neutral or protective earth (PE) potentials.
- Maintenance and modernization – quick replacement of connectors without disturbing the rest of the installation.
- Installations in refrigeration furniture, catering equipment, and industrial appliances.
How to use
- Strip each conductor to 11 mm.
- Lift the lever of the selected terminal upward.
- Insert the conductor fully into the terminal hole.
- Lower the lever – conductor is clamped. Repeat for remaining terminals.
Connector is for copper conductors only. Do not use with aluminum conductors.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the difference between 221-415 and 221-413?
Model 221-415 has 5 terminals instead of 3, allowing connection of five conductors in one point. Electrical ratings (450 V / 32 A per IEC) and cross-section ranges are identical. 221-415 is wider: 30 mm vs 18.6 mm (221-413).
Can I connect solid and stranded conductors in the same 221-415 connector?
Yes. In five terminals of one connector you can simultaneously connect conductors of different types and sizes in any combination – e.g. 2.5 mm2 solid, 1.5 mm2 stranded, and 1.0 mm2 ferruled.
How much insulation should be stripped?
The required stripping length is exactly 11 mm for each of the five conductors. Transparent housing allows visual verification of correct insertion of all conductors.
Can the connector be repeatedly disconnected?
Yes. Each of the five levers can be independently opened and closed any number of times – CAGE CLAMP® clamping force remains stable during the entire lifetime.
What is the difference between 32 A and 20 A mentioned by some suppliers?
The 32 A value is the rated current according to IEC 60998 European standard, used in Poland and EU. The 20 A value appears under UL standard (USA market). For installations in Poland, the value 32 A / 450 V per IEC applies.
What is the maximum operating temperature of the WAGO 221-415?
Ambient temperature during operation is max. 85°C (T85 class). The sustained operating temperature of the terminal is 105°C.
