Application
TLK series thermostatic expansion valves are used in serial production of the following devices: beverage dispensers and beer coolers, ice cream machines, milk coolers, liquid coolers, car air conditioning systems. For single-injection evaporators.
Mounting
- • The valves can be mounted in any position.
- • The external pressure equalization line should have a diameter of 6 mm or 1/4”, and should be mounted in accordance with the flow direction of the medium. It is recommended to run the line in an arc to prevent oil from entering the pressure equalization line.
- • It is recommended to mount the sensor in the upper, front section of the horizontal suction line, but never mount the sensor behind the closing valve. For all thermostatic valves, it is recommended to insulate the sensor to prevent the influence of the ambient temperature.
- • Do not bend or crush the sensor when clamping the sensor clip during assembly!
- • Do not cool the valve base connections with water during soldering, as this may cause cracks or deform the sealing surfaces.
- • The screws securing the thermostatic element to the valve connection base must be tightened diagonally in sequence (torque 20 Nm)
- • Modifications to the valve design are prohibited.
Superheat adjustment
Honeywell recommends installing valves with their factory settings for a given refrigerant.
Valves with combi-adsorption filling, on the labels located on the capillary tube, have the direction of
adjustment of the rotating spindle, depending on the refrigerant used. Such adjustment of the settings is crucial to ensure correct valve control operation.
The refrigerant used in the system should be marked on the label.
The factory superheat settings correspond to its lowest value and optimal use of the evaporator.
However, if it is necessary to adjust the superheat value, rotate the spindle according to the following instructions:
Clockwise rotation = Reduce refrigerant mass flow, increase superheat value
Counterclockwise rotation = Increase refrigerant mass flow, decrease superheat value
One rotation of the spindle changes the superheat value by approximately 0.3 bar. An increase in superheat value decreases the MOP value and vice versa
