Product Description
2-conductor through terminal block 4 mm2 WAGO TOPJOB®S 2004-1205 — black
WAGO 2004-1205 is a 2-conductor through terminal block from the TOPJOB®S series, designed for mounting on DIN rail. Thanks to the Push-in CAGE CLAMP® technology, it connects wires up to 4 mm2 cross-section without the need for a screwdriver — just insert the stripped wire to achieve a secure, vibration-resistant electrical connection. The black color marking facilitates circuit coding according to installation standards.
Main features and benefits
- Push-in CAGE CLAMP® — fast tool-free installation: single wires and strands (with ferrule) are inserted directly; the clamp maintains the connection regardless of vibrations.
- Ex e II approval: the terminal block meets the requirements for explosion-hazardous zones (Ex e II voltage: 550 V, Ex e II current: 30 A), expanding industrial application possibilities.
- Mounting on TS 35×15 and TS 35×7.5 rails: compatibility with the most popular DIN rails facilitates integration with the existing control cabinet.
- Side and center marking: double marking field speeds up circuit identification during service and inspection.
- Black housing color: standard color for coding phase L circuits (in 3-phase systems) or signal circuits, according to IEC 60446 standard.
- Flammability class V0 (UL 94): self-extinguishing insulating material, increasing the fire safety of the switchgear.

WAGO 2004-1205 — TOPJOB®S terminal block, black, 4 mm2
Application
The 2004-1205 terminal block is designed for building industrial switchgear and building installations wherever reliable connections are required with accelerated assembly. The black color makes it particularly useful for coding circuits in multi-phase switchgear, automation systems, and installations in explosion-hazardous zones (Ex e II).

FAQ — frequently asked questions
Does WAGO 2004-1205 require tools to connect the wire?
Single wires with a cross-section of 1–4 mm2 can be plugged in directly, without tools (Push-in method). For strands and wires below 1 mm2 or above 4 mm2 (up to 6 mm2), a screwdriver or WAGO opener is required.
What stripping length should be maintained?
The recommended wire stripping length is 11–13 mm. Too short stripping may result in insufficient electrical contact.
On which DIN rail can the 2004-1205 terminal block be mounted?
The terminal block is compatible with TS 35×15 mm and TS 35×7.5 mm rails — the most popular DIN rails used in industrial and installation switchgear.
Is the terminal block suitable for explosion-hazardous zones?
Yes. The 2004-1205 model has approval for Ex e II applications with a rated voltage of 550 V and current of 30 A under these conditions.
What is the maximum current and voltage for the 2004-1205 terminal block?
Under standard conditions (IEC/EN 60947-7-1): rated voltage 800 V, nominal current 32 A. In Ex e II zones respectively 550 V / 30 A.
How does the black version (2004-1205) differ from the blue one (2004-1204)?
Both versions are identical in terms of electrical and mechanical parameters. They differ only in the housing color, which serves for circuit coding — black is generally used for phase wires or signal circuits, blue for the neutral wire N.
